KAVAN two-stroke engines are an excellent choice for any „Sunday flyer’s“ sporty, aerobatic and scale model aircraft. Reliable operation and very easy running-in and fine-tuning make them, in the best sense of the word, „consumer’s“ engines that everybody can afford to buy and fly. Given adequate care and maintenance, they will reliably power your models for many years to come.

KAVAN S180AR is a two-stroke engine with a glow plug of classic ringed design ideal for large model aircraft of all kinds. It is equipped with a twin-needle RC carburettor; the set also includes a muffler.

The crankshaft has an UNF 3/8 propeller nut/bolt thread.

Recommended propeller:
Running-in: 16×12"
Sportster and Aerobatic: 16×12"
Scale: 18×8"

Recommended fuel tank: 500–700 ml.

Recommended fuel: „Straight“ (no nitro) fuel with 20 % castor oil (you can switch to 15 % oil content after your engine has been run-in) or similar with a castor/synthetic oil blend or with synthetic oil and 1–15 % nitromethane. We recommend using fuel with at least a small nitromethane content - the engine operation is then really highly reliable and the carburettor adjustment is easier and less sensitive to temperature changes and other environmental influences.

Recommended glow plug: KAVAN GP-1, O.S. MAX No.8, KAVAN Premium No.3; if high nitro content fuel is being used: O.S. MAX No.10 (former A5).
